The Conference “Ensuring Inclusion And Diversity In Elections In The Era Of Technologies” The representatives of the Supreme Election Commission of Adjara participated in the conference “Ensuring Inclusion and Diversity in Election in the Era of Technologies”, organized by the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES). Anthony Banbury, President of the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), Giorgi Kalandarishvili, the CEC Chairperson and Renata Levovski, Country Director for IFES Georgia, made opening remarks at the event.
Working Meeting On 23-24 December 2023 the workshop, organized by the Central Election Commission and the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), was held in Kakhetia Region. The workshop had an attendance of the representatives from the Supreme Election Commission of Adjara.
Workshop for Women Politicians from Ajara On 12-13 December 2023 women from diverse political party groups from Ajara region participated in a workshop aiming at empowering women with the necessary knowledge and skills to better impact decision-making in political life. The workshop was organised within the framework of the Council of Europe Project “Supporting Transparency, Inclusiveness and Integrity of Electoral Practice and Process in Georgia”.
Visit of Supreme Election Commission Delegation in Italy On 29-30 June 2023, the delegation of the Supreme Election Commission observed the regional elections in Campobasso, the Republic of Italy. In the frames of the visit, the SEC delegation met the representatives of the election administration of Molise Region: Francesco Colavita (the administrator of the election process in the region), Massimo Pilarella ( the head of the regional election department), Antonella Di Elsi (the responsible person for regional elections, the director of the cabinet of the president).
Working Meeting “Democratic Elections and Electoral Environment” On 29-30 June 2023, Supreme Election Commission in cooperation with the Council of Europe and Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Training Centre, organised a workshop for civic education schoolteachers from Batumi and adjacent areas on “Democratic Elections and Electoral Environment”.The meeting was held with the participation of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara.
Conference For The Representatives Of The Regional Media Outlets On Election Topics Within the framework of the new format of cooperation with the media, the conference " Media Development and New Approaches in Covering Electoral Processes was held for the representatives of regional media outlets. The event was organized by the Central Election Commission (CEC) and Supreme Election Commission (SEC) of Adjara, with the support of the program of the Council of Europe (CoE) entitled "Supporting the transparency, inclusiveness, and credibility of the electoral practice and process in Georgia". The meeting was opened by Giorgi Sharabidze, the Deputy Chairperson of the CEC, Parmen Jalaghonia, the Chairman of the Supreme Election Commission, and Markus Adelsbach, Head of the Council of Europe’s Elections and Participatory Democracy Division.
The visit of the Chairperson of Supreme Election Commission in the Republic of Albania The representatives of the Central Election Administration and the Chairperson of the Supreme Election Commission, Parmen Jalaghonia observed the local self-government elections held on May 14 in the Republic of Albania. Members of the delegation as international observers observed the polling process at election precincts, including the opening and closing of the polling station. Following the election, the CEC representatives monitored vote-counting procedures as well.
CEC and SEC Representatives Meeting At The Supreme Election Commission On February 10, the meeting of the CEC and SEC representatives was held at the Supreme Election Commission of Adjara. Giorgi Kalandarishvili, the chair of CEC and Parmen Jalaghonia, the chair of SEC, opened the meeting. Heads of different structural units of the CEC informed meeting participants about the various interesting issues.
Open Doors Day at the SEC Due to Global Election Day the Supreme Election Commission arranged the meeting with Batumi State University students. The representatives of the Institutional Development and Public Affairs Department led the meeting.
Educational and informational project "My first elections" The Supreme Election Commission has renewed the educational and informational project "My First Elections". In November and December this year, SEC trainers visited 15 public and private schools in Batumi. About 500 students attended the meetings.
Conference "PWD Women Participation in Electoral and Political Processes" On December 10, International Human Rights Day, the chairperson of the Supreme Election commission and other representatives of the administration attended the conference titled - "PWD Women Participation in Electoral and Political Processes" which took place in Hotel “Sheraton”, Batumi.
Renewed Project "My First Elections" Supreme Election commission renewed the informational project “ My First Elections” within the framework of the memorandum signed between the Supreme Election Commission and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of Adjara. On November 18, SEC trainers conducted the meetings at N4 and N8 public Batumi schools.
Training of Trainers – “Vote outside the box’ On May 16, online training of trainers – “Vote outside the box’ - was organized with the cooperation of the Supreme Election Council of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara and the Council of Europe Office in Georgia. Opening remarks were delivered by Parmen Jalagonia, the Chairperson of the Supreme Election Commission, and Franck Daeschler, the representative of the Council of Europe. The working meeting was led by Dan Moxon, the COS expert.
Mock elections in Batumi The Election Administration (EA) conducted mock elections to study the use of electronic technology in elections. The officials of the Central Election Commission (CEC) and Supreme Election commission (SEC) observed the mock elections.
Awarding Event of Essay Competition Winners An online event - the youth essay competition “My Vote in Democracy” and the discussion on the topic “Youth for Changes” was organized with the cooperation of the Supreme Election Council of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara and the Council of Europe Office in Georgia.
Youth Essay Competition The Council of Europe Office in Georgia and the Supreme Election Commission of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara are inviting first-time - and young voters, aged 18-25 years old, to enter an essay competition “My Vote in Democracy”
Election Journal N6 Supreme Election Commission, with the support of the Council of Europe in the framework of the Project "Supporting Transparency, Inclusiveness and Integrity of Electoral Practice and Process in Georgia" published a journal N6 "Elections and Democracy".
